RE: Check out the new RV FRIENDLY Shell stations!!!

Every Shell I have ever seen is at least .01 higher than competitive stations. Also, do you know that the full name is Royal Dutch Shell? BP Amoco is also British Petroleum Amoco. Both forign owned companies as the name implies. Perhaps Flying J, Loves and Pilot are not the most convenient, but at least they are AMERICAN!
That is STRANGE! The SHELL refinery that is just a short ways from my door is on american soil! Maybe they just hire Dutch workers as we have many Dutch in this area(of course many are third and more generation) :h. Also the Shell dealer down the road is an American. Some statements on this forum really make one wonder!

RE: tow haul mode

Even in the "flat lands" you have the wind resistance factor! I believe that still puts the same load as a carry weight or such in hills and tow haul should be on. Sort of like putting multiple sheets of flat plywood up and its not going to cause any load on the truck because its flat land! If you tow or haul, that is what it is there for.:h

RE: Well Water in tank?

:h, I am also on well water, but never get ill from it at home. It stays in the water heater tank while I am gone and I dont drain it when I get home before use. Also have 200 gallon pressure tank and never drain it when I get back home so I dont worry to much about the water sitting in the RV tank for a week or so. But I dont think it would hurt to put a teaspoon or so of bleach into storage tank and fill it with 40 gallons or so of water if one is worried about it. If you start with clean/sanitized tank dont think you have anything to worry about.

RE: Sap questions

I would be really careful on what you put on the rubber roof! The cure might do more damage than the sap! I also am under fir and pine trees, used regular dish soap cleaner with soft brush and it came right up....WD-40 might contain chemicals that will remove more than the sap.

RE: Reno, Carson City Park

Gold Ranch in Verdi is a good park, about 20 minutes out of Reno as said earlier. As far as KOA at Boomtown, Cabella's must be embarrased having it near them!

RE: 2008 Ford f250 with 5.4 and 4wd

Price is way on high end. You should be able to special order new with the V-10 xlt, extended cab and towing package etc for less than they are asking. Ask to talk to the on line or fleet sales person at the dealership.

RE: New Members: FAQ Section

Thank goodness not everyone feels about questions as some of the posters here do! Wouldn't be much of a "forum" without questions, would it?
I guess those who don't want to read the same subjects over and over could just chose to NOT read those subjects - just skip over them? Or am I missing something?
Could not agree more! If you dont like whats on, turn off the TV! or change the channel. Personally I seem to get more and updated information on OLD questions with new products and newer ideas. You have weight police, and now question police! Maybe a camping trip or off button is needed.:W

RE: Dutchmen 31B-DSL opinions

I believe Thor makes over 24 different brands, different factorys and different price ranges. Lumping them into good or bad really would be hard to do. Have had no problems with their Komfort line, but others have, so that dont even work! Seems to be like a new car, some have problems, others never do. This was answer to question about Thor products, dont know much about Dutchman line.

RE: Mission Tires = junk, & the benefit of checking tires

On the side of the tire, there is an 800 number for Tireco that sold these mission tires. A call to them will get you replacements (mine were replaced at N/C with different brand) plus payment for damages, at least it worked for me and several others on here. Worth a call, they will request the bad tire be sent back on their nickel so hold on to the bad tire.

RE: Deception pass

Chance of finding camping spot is not impossible, but very close! They do keep several sites for no reservations however. They do have a new overflow camping area that usually has an opening (used to be Sunrise RV park) till the state purchased it, drove thru there last week for the first time and was not at all impressed!. That area is right across from the main entrance into Deception Pass Park. If nothing else, Oak Harbor has a campground right on the beach, not bad for a city park.

RE: Stromberg Carlson tailgate?

Is anyone old enough to remember Stromberg-Carlson was quite the Hi FI Stereo Company in the early 1950's. They had beautiful cabinets made of real wood with first class components installed. I can't see the connection between electronics and tail gates, but I guess it's another way to make a buck! Stromberg-Carlson also made those big floor model radios back in the 40's. Setchell-Carlson also made televisions up till the mid 70's and seem to get some confused with the name. Great American products, too bad they are no longer around.

RE: Why people can't afford to travel this year.

I don't know about the steak and beer Supercharged, but those motorhomes, big 5ers etc were sure out on the roadways this last week and weekend. They must be buying fuel as they are moving and many parks full. As far as whiners, it is easier listening to them than the non-whiners complaining about the whiners! At least the whiners usually have something intelligent to say. As far as living at 65% of income, depends on your income.

RE: More of the same from Affinity Groups Portals

I keep hearing that this is a free site!! Do you really think that its cost is not added into the price of things you buy at all the different business ventures of the site owner? Plus their income from the ads we view. It might be a non-subsription site, but it is an income source for them and should work much better than it does.

RE: Do you take a dump in your toilet?

Makes you wonder what people do when they are home! Hummm, can see them now running to the neighbors or the store down the street. Its made to use just like the one at home. Hopefully they are not on a septic system at home! Fumes might be right outside their door just awaiting to attack!

RE: National Warranty of Florida

I had National Warranty of Florida on a car and they paid, and paid and paid! Never a claim denial and know they paid out at least 4 or more times over the cost of the policy. If you have no claims, you feel like you wasted the money, but the same can be said for your liability policy or fire insurance.

RE: How Small is a "small" TT?

TT with a 21' box here. Too big to be a small TT and too small to be a big TT.
I feel so unloved.
Same here, just under 23ft box on a labeled 21, guess we are just not wanted. :W or maybe we should have our own unloved group! GVWR over 7000 so really feel unwanted, but will get over it.:p

RE: Fishing in Yellowstone

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You have to purchase a permit to fish in Yellowstone Lake. I think its like $2 or thats what it was several years ago. Our son and friend fished. They waded the shore out about knee deep and caught some.
They increased the price a little on that fishing license! Last year it was $15. for a 3 day license. Was worth 10 times that for the flyfishing on the Madison experience, nope, never caught a fish, but am headed back this year to try again.
